Over in the Ravelry group, there's a vote on where to go just this Monday.

1. Brown's
2. Ryan's Wake
3. Panera in Latham
4. Panera in East Greenbush
5. Denny's in East Greenbush
6. My house in Averill Park

Right now the vote is for Brown's.

So Flavor cafe, home to our lovely stitch and bitch, had a fire

Bad news: it could take a few months, Boo!

this means wen will need to find a new temporary home for our knit nights.
Any ideas?

bent needles
Hey, Heidi (Heidy? Y or I?). I found those bent circular needles you like at Michaels in Latham Farms.

Not sure what your username is here, but thought I'd post and someone could pass it along. :)

Needle mooching?
Would any of the kind folks with Knitpicks interchangeable needles be willing to lend me one pair of size 8 tips for 2 weeks? I have cables but only size 4 tips. I love my Addis but my shawl is outgrowing the cable.

size queen!
i'm wondering if anyone has a size 13 circular needle with at least a 30 inch cord that i could borrow. my s-i-l got yarn for me to make her a shawl with and the instructions call for such a needle. i've only got small ones (who would have guessed?) but would prefer not to buy them for this pretty quick project.
if you can hook me up i'd be ever so grateful. i'll be at flavours tonight so we could exchange your needle for my eternal gratitude.

Uhhh... Oops.
My mom is stranded in Albany tonight. I think she wants to come to S&B tonight, and, for lack of a better term, she's a bit on the Catholic end of things. Eep!

Knit-in and Fiber Expo this Sunday
I will most likely be too busy to go to this, but wanted to make sure everyone else knew about it:

Knit-In + Fiber Arts Expo
Sunday, March 21 | 1:00 - 4:00pm | FREE!

At the Knit-In, local fiber artists will be performing demos on dyeing, embroidery, felting, hooking, needlepoint, spinning and weaving. Spend three wonderful hours with friends and other fiber enthusiasts, tour the Arts Center and enter to win great prizes. Please bring your own folding chair. The Knit In is sponsored by Beau Knits, Brunswick Yarn Depot, Eastside Weavers, In Stitches Needlepoint Shoppe and the Arts Center of the Capital Region.

Knitting-ish talk tonight
There is a talk tonight at EMPAC by the woman who knits coral reefs, Margaret Wertheim. The talk is on the "mathematics as poetic enchantment."

Wertheim is co-founder of the Institute for Figuring. From the org's site:

The Institute's interests are twofold: the manifestation of figures in the world around us and the figurative technologies that humans have developed through the ages. From the physics of snowflakes and the hyperbolic geometry of sea slugs, to the mathematics of paper folding, the tiling patterns of Islamic mosaics and graphical models of the human mind, the Institute takes as its purview a complex ecology of figuring

Tickets are $15 and include dinner, which you need to RSVP for. I think it is free without dinner. The talk starts at 6:00

Can I talk anyone into going to this with me?!?! Please!

Trip to Webs
There is a trip to Webs next Saturday. Saturday the 6th.

My car is unavailable, but we have other vehicles offered. Carrie's car can take 2-3, Kris can take 2-3, Beth can take 2-3 or maybe borrow her dad's minivan.

This is a multipurpose trip, both to feed yarn stashes and to celebrate the 2nd birthday of my favorite Ravelry group: Lazy, Stupid, and Godless.

The plan: arrive at Webs at 11, lunch at the Northampton Brewery at 1, and then back to Webs if we so desire.

Crochet class
Hey, I'm gonna take a Crochet class on Sunday from 1-3 at the Trumpet Hill LYS in Colonie. It is a 2-part class with the 2nd part on 2/7. Cost is $40.

The class description is available here, and a picture of the scarf you will make is here.

I just thought I would post here in case anyone was interested.

Trip to Webs
We know what, and how(me driving?).

Meeting where?

My car has room for 6 plus me, if we’re really cozy, and have one exceptionally short-legged person.

This weekend
The Early December Yarn Acquisition journey to Webs will be Saturday. I plan on leaving my house around 9 am. I have room in my car for up to 5 bodies other than my own. Food will be arbitrated later in the day.

Is anybody coming with me?

ETA: There will be a brief stop at the Southampton Harley Davidson dealership. PseudoFIL is a dirty biker who gets tee shirts every year for giftmas.
